This kiddo has come a long way in his willingness to sit and write about what he knows.
It has been a difficult thing, getting buy-in from all my students. Many have struggled. Many have given me push-back at every turn.  At times, it's felt like am uphill battle ... one that I was losing rapidly.

Recently, I've begun to notice those attitudes changing.  I'd like to say that it is because they have been given a lot of time to talk about their thoughts and theories before they've been made to write it down.  I've found great value in that critical oral analysis AFTER we've critically read a passage. That oral analysis seems to be one of the important keys to getting even the most reluctant writer writing!
